Taking advantage of the "new world"

The new general ledger represents a major change for the two components Finance and Controlling. There is an option to introduce the new general ledger already in ECC or only when switching to S/4HANA, where it is then mandatory. The new general ledger counteracts the fragmentation of accounting in previous versions and paves the way for a uniform approach to finance with integration, transparency and automated processes. This also has a positive effect on the increasingly complex reporting requirements and enables comprehensive reporting on three levels: Legal, management and segment reporting.

Functionalities of the New GL in ECC:

  • Depiction of parallel accounting via parallel ledgers
  • Real-time integration of CO into financial accounting
  • Reporting options at segment level
  • Document splitting as the basis for balanced financial reports, e.g. at segment or profit center level
