Basically, an understanding of the business partner object and its integration into the respective modules must be created in all departments, especially accounting, purchasing and sales. On the basis of this knowledge transfer, a business partner concept is developed together that is customised to the needs of the respective company and the master data structure. At the same time, the quality of the master data is checked. This may need to be optimised by the specialist department.
This is followed by implementation in an initial sandbox, which also serves to verify the theoretically developed business partner concept directly in the system.
After successful acceptance, the introduction of the Business Partner on the development, quality and production system is just a formality. Ideally, users of the SAP system will not experience any disruption to their day-to-day business.
Minor rework in customising the Business Partner still needs to be done as part of the S/4HANA rollout.
