The MRP run is the core of the disposition with SAP. With the MRP list, an MRP controller receives exception messages that alert him to procurement bottlenecks.

However, the list becomes confusing and the SAP standard reaches its limits when there are several keys as well as different plants and MRP areas.

The dispatch list is a pain for every dispatcher who has to work through it. By using the Logistics Alert Cockpit, your dispatchers can work more effectively. Not only can they take on more tasks, they can also ensure better material availability.

Because fewer buffers are required, delivery times can be shortened and stocks reduced. All in all, the CONSILIO solution increases your delivery reliability and therefore also customer satisfaction.

Starting point

Our customer had been using the MRP list MD06 since the SAP implementation. Statements from MRP controllers such as, ‘I can't work with this list, there are too many exception messages!’, ‘I can't distinguish between important and unimportant exception messages.’ or ‘Although I have set the processing status, the same exception messages will be displayed tomorrow.’ were part of the daily routine.

Since it was not possible to clearly identify where the problems in planning lay, work with list MD06 was discontinued in the SAP standard.

Challenge and project goal

For years, our customer tried to solve individual planning problems by means of customer-specific individual developments. The result was a colourful mix of solutions that did not, however, provide the desired overview for the dispatchers.

For this reason, a uniform tool had to be found and implemented from a holistic perspective. This is where CONSILIO's Logistics Alert Cockpit came into play. This cockpit is an add-on solution that is continuously developed, optimised and maintained at the customer's site. It displays only important messages in prioritised order and replaces the standard MRP list MD06.

MRP run

The heart of materials management is the MRP run (Material Requirements Planning), which determines production and order proposals that are precise in terms of quantity and date, based on stock levels, minimum stock levels, replacement times, planned scrap and existing orders and requirements.
