SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM)

The area of maintenance processing includes functions, processes and measures for planning, controlling and executing maintenance work.
Various processes are supported:

• Classic planned maintenance
• Outsourcing
• Reconditioning
• Subcontracting
• Calibration
• Special processes such as pool asset management, maintenance event builder or shift reports

All these processes can be individually configured to your needs by our experts.

1. Notifications

• With the functionality of maintenance notifications, you can request maintenance work, report malfunctions or document activities
• You can have notifications created automatically and notifications can be converted into orders
• The interface of messages is configurable. This way you always see the most important information at a glance

2. Orders

• The maintenance order is a highly integrative and important object of maintenance processing
• It serves on the one hand as a collector for all costs incurred, such as spare parts consumption or personnel deployment
• On the other hand it is available as a central planning object
• The order supports you in material planning, capacity planning, scheduling and planning of external companies
• The interface of the job is configurable
• Further processes such as immediate repair or follow-up orders can be implemented around the order

3. Feedback

• With time confirmations, maintenance technicians can record the time spent on the order
• Technical data such as meter readings, measured values and damage codes can also be reported
• The actual material consumption can be booked

4. Material Planning

• In material planning you plan spare parts and check their availability
• Both stocked spare parts and non-stock material can be planned

5. capacity planning

• Capacity planning allows you to compare the target times of activities with the actual availability of resources

6. Planning external companies

• Contractor assignments can be planned in various ways. In particular, the classic outsourcing, service procurement with service specifications and subcontracting are available

7. Project oriented maintenance

• Project-oriented maintenance is suitable for very large maintenance measures or when carrying out maintenance work within projects
• It is based on the functions and elements of the SAP Project System (SAP PS)
• This allows for scheduling or budgeting by SAP PS

Preventive maintenance enables you to perform timely and automatically scheduled maintenance. You can fall back on different types of maintenance:
 

• Time based maintenance
  • You can use strategy plans to map interdependent or dependent maintenance
  • e.g. every 6 months a "small" maintenance and every 12 months the "big" maintenance
     
• Performance-based maintenance
  • counter, e.g. every 10.000 km
     
• Condition-based maintenance
  • Reacting to events in measurement points
  • e.g. system message when the minimum filling level of an oil tank is not reached
     
• Maintenance through multiple counter plans
  • Combination of time-based and performance-based maintenance plan

The most important functions of preventive maintenance:

• Work plans to describe the work steps as well as their sequence and pre-planning of subsequent maintenance orders
• Maintenance plans for linking the task lists with cycles, scheduling and other planning data
• Automatic scheduling, maintenance plan simulation, maintenance plan costing

• The extensive functions of the plant structuring serve the illustration of machines and technical plants of a company 
• Functional locations and pieces of equipment are available as the most important master data objects
• These can be linked to parts lists, which are mainly used for spare parts and for a finer structuring of the system
• Measuring points and counters can be used to record meter readings and measured values to enable performance-based maintenance
• Linear Asset Management can be used to map linear assets such as networks, pipelines and routes
• The asset structuring of maintenance has an integration into the asset accounting. For this purpose, a piece of equipment is linked to an asset number
• Document management for plant documentation allows documents such as drawings or circuit diagrams to be stored with the technical object
• The classification system can be used to classify pieces of equipment and functional locations
• Furthermore, a history is available with which, among other things, it can be evaluated which orders have been executed at the technical object

• The maintenance controlling serves the monitoring of measures, objects and time periods regarding costs
• Technical evaluations such as Mean-Time-To-Repair (MTTR) or failure statistics are also available
• Orders and cost centers can be budgeted and settled to internal activity receivers
• Tariffs can be stored for services of the maintenance department
• A consistent use of internal cost allocation offers your company a high degree of cost transparency
