Introduction of an RFID solution for the incoming goods process
As a supplier to well-known car manufacturers, Meleghy Automotive GmbH & Co. KG needed to introduce an RFID solution. Background: OEMs introduced a new incoming goods process in which the goods are received automatically. This process uses RFID technology and is mandatory for all suppliers.
Challenge
The delivery process had to be adapted so that the previously manual goods receipt process on the part of the OEM could be automated. The load carriers equipped with RFID chips by the OEM, which are used by the suppliers, required new labels with an RFID function in which the ID numbers of the RFID chips are implemented. When goods are physically received by the OEM, the RFID labels are scanned and the contents of the load carriers are recognized and automatically recorded in the system.
